Forward John Farinacci scored the game-winning goal in the third period, while Frederic Brunet, Christian Wolanin, and Riley Tufte found the back of the net as well.
How It Happened
Cam Thiesing wrapped the puck around the net and banked it off a defender's skate and into the back of the net to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead with 10:53 remaining in the first period.
Hunter Drew collected a rebound in the low slot and flicked a backhanded shot under the crossbar to extend the Bridgeport lead to 2-0 with 12:48 to play in the second frame.
From the left circle, Brunet fired a wrist shot off the right post and into the back of the net to cut the Islanders' lead to 2-1 just 17 seconds after the previous tally. Patrick Brown and Tufte received the assists.
Matthew Poitras dropped the puck for Wolanin at the top of the slot, where he hammered a one-timer off left post and into the back of the net for a power play goal to tie the game at 2-2 with 6:03 left in the second period. Matej Blumel was credited with a secondary assist.
Farinacci fired a wrist shot from the left circle that sat in the crease before a Bridgeport defender accidentally flipped the puck into his own net to give the P-Bruins a 3-2 lead with 17:20 remaining in the third period.
With 25 seconds to play, Tufte scored on the empty net from the far end of the ice.
