Oklahoma City Comets News Release

San Antonio, Texas - The San Antonio Missions' offense racked up 15 hits and held the Oklahoma City Dodgers to no runs for the second time in three games, leading to a 6-0 victory for the home team Saturday night at Nelson Wolff Stadium.

The Missions (14-8) pitched their fourth shutout in the last eight games and won their sixth straight game. The Dodgers (7-15) have dropped each of the first four games of the series and have now lost nine of their last 10 contests.

San Antonio tied its season high with 15 hits and scored in five of the first six innings. One night after scoring four runs and collecting seven hits with two outs, the Missions tallied four more runs and five more hits with two outs Saturday.

The Missions scored one run each in the first and second innings, mostly thanks to Nate Orf. He led off the bottom of the first inning with a double and then scored on a RBI double by Mauricio Dubon. In his next at-bat in the second inning, Orf collected a RBI single to make it 2-0.

San Antonio doubled its lead it the fourth inning. Cory Spangenberg led off with a home run, and Dubon collected his second hit and RBI of the night later in the inning with a single.

More two-out runs crossed in the fifth and sixth innings, with RBI doubles by David Freitas and Keston Hiura.

The Dodgers notched just one extra-base hit and went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. The team is now 2-for-29 with runners in scoring position during the current series and 1-for-the-last-28.

Missions reliever Miguel Sanchez retired all seven batters he faced and earned the win after starting pitcher Corbin Burnes was pulled with two outs in the fifth inning. Sanchez (1-2) inherited the bases loaded and faced Will Smith, who sharply lined out to third base to end the inning.

Dodgers starting pitcher Rob Zastryzny took a second straight loss after allowing five runs and a career-high 11 hits over 4.2 innings. He tied his season high with six strikeouts and did not allow a walk.

Each team's pitching staff recorded at least 12 strikeouts, with the Dodgers' pitchers racking up 13.

The Dodgers and Missions finish their series at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, with the Dodgers looking to avoid a sweep. Live radio coverage of each game begins 15 minutes before first pitch on AM 1340 "The Game," 1340thegame.com and through the free iHeartRadio or MiLB First Pitch apps.
