Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Randy Rowe scored 3:34 into overtime to give Johnstown a 3-2 overtime win over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday night. The triumph runs the Chiefs unbeaten in regulation time stretch to four games (3-0-1). The loss spoiled a two goal game from Cyclone T.J. McElroy.

The Cyclones opened the scoring at 6:35 of the opening period, as T.J. McElroy slapped home his third goal of the season from the blueline over the left shoulder of Kris Mayotte. Olivier Latendresse and Conrad Martin dished off the assists. For Latendresse, it was the 15th straight game he registered a point-the longest stretch in the ECHL this season. Johnstown controlled play in the opening period, outshooting Cincinnati, 14-5.

Johnstown collected the lone goal of the second period, as Andy Contois netted his second score of the season-a shorthanded effort. It was the Chiefs sixth shorthanded goal of the season-tying for the ECHL lead.

In the third period, the Chiefs grabbed the lead at 8:58-when Mike Sgroi netted his first of the season on the power play. The Cyclones leveled the scores with 27 seconds to play with a powerplay goal from McElroy-his second of the night and fourth of the campaign. McElroy's goal came with a six-on-four attack as goaltender Martin Houle was on the bench. The score was assisted by Latendresse and Kyle Rank.

In the overtime, Randy Rowe took advantage of a Cincinnati turnover and ripped a shot past Houle to end the contest at 3:34. For Rowe, it was his ninth score of the year.

Martin Houle's strong week continued for the Cyclones, stopping 28 shots-improving to 6-3-1 on the season. During the three games played this week, Houle posted a 1.92 goals against average and a .922 save percentage.

The Cyclones are 10-8-4 on the season, while Johnstown is 17-5-1. The Cyclones play one more game at U.S. Bank Arena against Johnstown on Monday (December 8), before welcoming in Charlotte on Tuesday, December 9. Faceoff for all of those games is at 7:30pm.

Despite the weather, the Cyclones welcomed nearly 2000 fans through the gate for Replica Ring Night at U.S. Bank Arena. Season attendance through eleven games is 27,570-an average of 2506. That is an increase of 47.3 percent through eleven games last season.
