(Sarnia, ON) - Brendan Lemieux had a natural hat-trick and Michael DiPietro made 29 saves for the shutout, as the Spitfires beat the Sting 3-0 Friday night, snapping a nagging, five-game losing skid.

Christian Fischer assisted on all three goals and three Spits defencemen - Mikhail Sergachev, Logan Stanley and Jalen Chatfield - chipped in a helper, as Windsor (17-9-5-0) moved five points up on Sarnia (16-11-2-0) for top spot in the West Division.

DiPietro won for the sixth time in 10 starts, earning his first Ontario Hockey League shutout with eleven saves in the first period, five in the second and thirteen in the third, with the game on the line.

Since being acquired from the Barrie Colts on Thursday, Lemieux has posted four goals along with an assist and 14 shots on goal.

The Spits are set to wrap the weekend Sunday afternoon (2:05), as the Kitchener Rangers visit the WFCU Centre for our annual Teddy Bear Toss.
