OHL Ottawa 67's

67's fall 2-1 to Erie Otters

December 11, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

The 67's kept the game close, with stellar goaltending by Leo Lazarev, but fell 2-1 to the OHL's top ranked team, the Erie Otters.

It was a close game through the first 40, with the 67's and Otters exchanging 1 goal each in the first period, Nick Betz got Erie on the board first and then Austen Keating got his 6th of the season to even the score, which came from a forced turnover by Trent Mallette.

There was no scoring in the 2nd period, but it was Leo Lazarev and the penalty killers who held off the OHL's 2nd best power play, which had 2 opportunities.

The 3rd period saw the Erie Otters break the 1-1 stalemate with a goal by Jake Marchment, proving to be the game winner.

The 67's will also face the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday, December 13 in the team's annual Holiday Game, which will include the popular and spectacular Teddy Bear Toss, along with a Sing for Santa feature and autographs with the players after the game. As an added bonus, the game will feature choirs from around the region leading the crowd in Christmas carols.

Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767, ext. 1.

Youth hockey players in the Ottawa-Gatineau region can obtain free tickets to any 67's regular-season home game through the 67's Prospects program. Visit the 67's Prospects website for details, or call 613-232-6767, ext. 1.
