SAGINAW, MI - On Friday night, the Saginaw Spirit traveled to Guelph, Ontario to take on the Storm for the second time this season. The Spirit used a three-goal second period to propel themselves to a 4-1 win over the Guelph Storm.
The Spirit got the scoring started at 4:32 of the first period when Dylan Sadowy finished off a give-and-go play with Artem Artemov. Marcus Crawford also assisted on the play. The period ended with the Spirit leading the Storm by the same 1-0 score.
At 9:13 of the second period, Chase Stewart scored his first OHL goal on a point shot past Guelph goaltender Michael Guigovaz. Markus Niemelainen and Brady Gilmour assisted on the play. Just 34 seconds later, Mike Davies deposited his fifth tally of the season on a rebound in the slot. Chase Stewart picked up his second point of the night on the assist at 9:47.
