Sudbury Wolves News Release
The Sudbury Wolves have acquired 19-year-old defenceman JARETT MEYER from the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for 17-year-old defenceman TRENTON BOURQUE. The Wolves have also acquired a conditional 5th round draft pick in 2018.
"The Sudbury Wolves organization is very pleased and excited to be adding Jarett to our hockey club," said Sudbury Wolves General Manager Barclay Branch. "He will add some key components to our group, including size and experience, that will be valuable elements to our team now and moving forward."
The 6'9", 240lbs right shot defenceman is in his second season with the Owen Sound Attack. The West Sayville, New York native came to Owen Sound as a free agent last season. In 28 games to date this season, he has 2 goals and 2 assists. He also attended the Detroit Red Wings main camp in September as a free agent.
Sudbury Wolves would like to wish Trenton the best of luck in Owen Sound and thank him for this hard work and dedication to the Sudbury Wolves' organization and City of Greater Sudbury over the last two seasons.
Meyer will join his new teammates tomorrow in Owen Sound as the Wolves make their one and only stop of the season there on Saturday night at 7:30pm. Prior to tomorrow's game, the Wolves host the London Knights for the one and only time this season tonight at 7:00PM in their final home game prior to the Christmas Break. Tonight is also the Wolves' annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by the Travelodge Hotel Sudbury. Tickets are on sale now at the Sudbury Arena Box Office, by calling 705-671-3000 or online at greatersudbury.ca/tickets.
