Krahn Replaced By Peters For All Star Game

Cedar Park, TX - The American Hockey League announced on Saturday that Albany River Rats goaltender Justin Peters has been named to the Canadian roster for the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic, to take place January 18-19 in Portland, Maine.

Peters replaces the Texas Stars goalie Brent Krahn, who will miss the event due to injury. The Stars netminder has not played since Nov. 22. Texas defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy will be the team's lone representative at the mid-season classic. He will suit up for the PlanetUSA All-Star team.

The 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic will feature the top talent in the American Hockey League competing in the 2010 Ducks Unlimited AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Monday, January 18 (8:00 p.m. ET) and the 2010 AHL All-Star Game on Tuesday, January 19 (6:00 p.m. ET). Of the 492 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 94 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Brad Boyes, Dan Boyle, Danny Briere, Brian Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Rick DiPietro, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Zach Parise, Bobby Ryan, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal and Tomas Vokoun.

Tickets for the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic - which include admission to both the Skills Competition and the AHL All-Star Game as well as an official commemorative All-Star Classic event program - are $49 (rows 1-12 in all sections) and $42 (rows 13-24 in all sections). The Texas Stars remain in Abbotsford, BC for a rematch on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 6:00 PM (CST). The Stars return home to host San Antonio at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Cedar Park Center. The first 3,000 fans receive a Texas Stars Puck Bottle Opener. The Stars will also host the Toronto Marlies at 7:30 PM on Friday, Jan. 15, handing out Texas Stars Fleece Blankets to the first 2,000 fans. Also, fans will be able to purchase $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. All games can be heard on the Stars flagship station ESPNAustin 104.9 FM "The Horn" or ESPNAustin 1530-AM.
