BRIDGEPORT, CT -- Mark Flood scored the game-winning goal in overtime and Dustin Kohn added a pair of assists to lead the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to a 3-2 victory over the Springfield Falcons Saturday night at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Bridgeport swept the home-and-home series to improve to 21-17-1-2 on the season.

Trailing 2-1 after two periods, the Sound Tigers dominated the third, outshooting the Falcons 16-0. It marked the first time in franchise history Bridgeport held its opponent shotless for an entire period.

Trevor Smith tied the game for the Sound Tigers at the 4:40 mark of the third. Flood blasted an initial shot from the right point which Devan Dubnyk made a pad save on. In the scramble for the rebound, Smith swooped in and hammered the puck into the back of the net, making the score 2-2. It was Smith's 12th goal of the year.

"The third period was our team's identity," Sound Tigers Head Coach Jack Capuano said. "That's how we want to play all the time."

In the final seconds of regulation, Dubnyk made saves on scoring chances by Smith and Jesse Joensuu in front of the net. Early in overtime, he made another outstanding glove save on a breakaway by Greg Mauldin. Dubnyk finished the game with 35 saves, helping the Falcons earn one point.

With just five seconds left in overtime, Kohn lined-up at the center of the blue-line and fired a shot towards the net. Flood was stationed in the slot in front of the goal and tipped the shot past Dubnyk to win the game for the Sound Tigers.

"After the second period we talked about how we needed to have a great third period," Kohn said. "That's the best I've seen us respond to that kind of challenge."

Greg Moore put Bridgeport on the board first, scoring his second goal in as many games at the 10:10 mark of the first period. Joenssu moved in and fired a shot on goal which Dubnyk turned aside. The rebound came off Dubnyk's pads and landed on the stick of a charging Moore, who poked it through the goaltender's legs for his ninth tally of the year.

Alex Plante fired a blast through a screened Scott Munroe to tie the game for Springfield with 3:19 left in the first period. It was Plante's first goal of the season. The Falcons grabbed the lead midway through the second period when Colton Fretter scored his team leading 16th goal of the season. With the Falcons on the power-play, Fretter skated into the zone and fired a shot off the goalpost. The rebound came right back to Fretter who snapped a quick shot inside the post to give his team the lead.

Matt Martin had a chance to tie the game with 7:30 remaining in the second period but Dubnyk stopped Martin's shot from the top of the goalmouth.

The Sound Tigers outshot the Falcons 38-19 in the game. Munroe made 17 saves for Bridgeport to earn his 11th victory of the season.

The Sound Tigers are back in action Wednesday night when they visit the Adirondack Phantoms. Face-off at the Glens Falls Civic Center is set for 7:00 pm. The Sound Tigers return home Friday night when they host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 pm. For tickets, please call TicketMaster at 1-800-745-3000 or log on to www.soundtigers.com.
