Albany's Peters Added To Roster For 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.... The American Hockey League today announced that Albany River Rats goaltender Justin Peters has been named to the Canadian roster for the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic, to take place January 18-19 in Portland, Maine.

Peters replaces the Texas Stars' Brent Krahn, who will miss the event due to injury.

Peters, 23, was a second-round draft choice by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2004. The fourth-year pro from Blyth, Ont., has a record of 12-10-2 with one shutout this season, ranking eighth in the league with a 2.22 goals-against average and seventh with a.928 save percentage in 24 appearances for the River Rats.

The 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic will feature the top talent in the American Hockey League competing in the 2010 Ducks Unlimited AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Monday, January 18 (8:00 p.m. ET) and the 2010 AHL All-Star Game on Tuesday, January 19 (6:00 p.m. ET). Of the 492 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 94 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Brad Boyes, Dan Boyle, Danny Briere, Brian Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Rick DiPietro, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Zach Parise, Bobby Ryan, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal and Tomas Vokoun.
