Adirondack Phantoms News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that the Flyers have loaned goaltender Ray Emery (EH-muhr-ee) to the Phantoms for conditioning purposes and that he will return to the Flyers on Sunday, January 10th, according to Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren.
Emery will be available to play in tonight's game for the Phantoms, who take on the Portland Pirates at 7:00 pm at the Glens Falls Civic Center, in Glens Falls, NY. The Flyers are home tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:00 pm at Wachovia Center.
Emery, 27, missed the last 16 games with the Flyers due to injury and underwent successful surgery on December 9th to repair a significant tear of his rectus abdominus on the left side of his lower stomach. Prior to that, Emery posted an 11-8-1 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and.901 save percentage, including one shutout, in 21 appearances with the Flyers in 2009-10.
