ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - The Abbotsford HEAT recorded back-to-back wins over the Texas Stars this weekend, extending a season-high four-game win streak.

Jason Jaffray scored a short handed goal and added an assist to lead the HEAT to a 4-2 American Hockey League victory over the Texas Stars in front of 4,038 fans at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre Saturday.

The HEAT defeated the Stars 3-1 on Friday.

"That was our agenda going into this home stand. We wanted to establish ourselves as a tough home team," said HEAT forward Colin Stuart, who had two third period assists.

Brett Sutter opened HEAT scoring in the first period. Mikael Backlund and Riley Armstrong also tallied for the HEAT. Travis Morin and Mathieu Tousignant replied for the Stars.

HEAT goaltender Matt Keetley faced 34 shots in recording the win, while Matt Climie had 39 shots fired his way in the Texas goal.

The HEAT will resume their eight-game home stand with back-to-back tilts versus the Manitoba Moose (Vancouver Canucks affiliate) Tuesday and Wednesday. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
