Falcons Earn A Point At Bridgeport

For the second straight night, the Springfield Falcons and Bridgeport Sound Tigers battled back and forth with the game being decided by a single goal. Bridgeport's Mark Flood scored with just four seconds remaining in overtime giving the Sound Tigers a 3-2 overtime win. Falcons goaltender Devan Dubnyk was once again solid stopping 35 of 38 shots, while Falcons rookie Alex Plante scored his first AHL goal and added one assist.

Sound Tigers forward Greg Moore opened the scoring at 10:10 of the first period when he tallied his second goal in as many nights against Springfield. The two teams exchanged scoring chances in the opening period with the Falcons evening the score at 1-1 when Plante converted at 16:41 of the first period.

In the second period, the Falcons took their first lead of the game when Colton Fretter scored on the power play, his team-leading 16th goal of the year. The Falcons held a 2-1 advantage heading into the third period.

In the final period, Bridgeport continued to apply pressure on the Falcons and it was Sound Tigers forward Trevor Smith scoring the game-tying marker at 4:40 of the final stanza.
