(COLUMBUS, OH) -- Shortstop Lenyn Sosa recorded two hits and added four RBIs to help power the Charlotte Knights past the Columbus Clippers by a score of 8-2 on Saturday night in game five of the six-game series from Huntington Park in Columbus, OH. The red-hot Sosa is among the International League leaders in a number of offensive categories.

A day after reaching base five times in Charlotte's doubleheader on Friday, Sosa again excelled at the plate on Saturday. The 23-year-old drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the second inning to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. With the Knights trailing 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning, Sosa doubled home two runs to give the team a 3-2 lead at that point. One inning later, he added an RBI double - his fourth RBI of the game. For the season, Sosa is batting a team-high .462.

As a team, the Knights drew 11 walks on the day, including three apiece from first baseman Zach Remillard and left fielder Adam Haseley. Second baseman Yolbert Sánchez and third baseman Erik González chipped in with a hit and RBI each.

RHP Davis Martin started the game for the Knights and was sharp over five innings of work. Martin, who did not factor in the decision, allowed just one run on three hits over five strong frames. He walked three batters and struck out five on the day. RHP Lincoln Henzman (1-0, 4.50), who was added to Charlotte's roster before the game, earned the win out of the bullpen in his first appearance of the season. He gave up just one run on two hits over two innings.

Saturday's commanding win snapped Charlotte's three-game losing skid. The win also evened up Charlotte's record at 4-4 on the season.

The Knights will conclude the six-game road series against the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians) from Huntington Park on Sunday afternoon. First pitch of the finale is set for 1:05 p.m. Fans can listen to the game live on www.CharlotteKnights.com. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action.
