Kiser Called Up to Albany

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that defenseman Nate Kiser been called up to the American Hockey League by the Albany River Rats. Kiser will not be in uniform tonight when the Rays host the Augusta Lynx.

Kiser has played in 30 games this season for the Stingrays. He has four assists and 86 penalty minutes.

"Albany needs a big physical presence on their blue line," explained Fitzsimmons. "Nate should be able to fit right in at that level.

Kiser, is in his third season as a professional, he spent training camp with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. Kiser played 58 games with the Stingrays a year ago scoring two goals and adding 11 assists, while compiling 173 minutes in penalties.

The native of Southgate, Michigan was a fifth round draft pick of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2000 draft. He began his professional career in 2003 with the Dayton Bombers. Kiser was an assistant captain with the Stingrays last season. He has had stints in the AHL with both Syracuse and Portland.

The Stingrays host the Augusta Lynx tonight and the Columbia Inferno on Saturday. Tomorrow's game in Pack the House night with $5.00 tickets and free parking!
