Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman T.J. Kemp has been loaned to the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL. In a separate transaction, forward John Morlang has been activated from the injured reserve.

This marks the first trip to the AHL for Kemp, a first year pro out of Mercyhurst College. Kemp, who will represent the Royals at the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game Presented By Bud Light at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, on Wednesday, January 25, is the Royals' leading scoring defenseman with eight goals and twenty-one assists (twenty nine points) in 35 games. Kemp becomes the nineteenth player for the Royals this season who have been called to the AHL. Morlang will see his first action since January 3, as he has missed the last seven games due to injury. Over the course of twenty-two games with the Royals this year, Morlang has scored eight goals and added nine assists, while picking up twenty-seven penalty minutes.

Reading returns home on tonight against the Wheeling Nailers when the first 2000 fans in attendance receive the second in a series of five bobbleheads being given away this season to commemorate the Royals' fifth anniversary season. On Saturday the Royals are back at the Sovereign Center against the Chiefs. The first 1500 fans in attendance, who are 21 years of age or older, on Saturday receive a Yuengling Lager Pint Glass-the second in a series of five to be given away this season-courtesy of All-Star Distributing. Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
