Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Paul Cabana has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve list.
Cabana makes his second trip to the IR this season after suffering an injury during Florida's 5-4 overtime win over the Stockton Thunder on January 14. The 27-year-old heads to the IR having scored points in the last six games he's played, notching five goals and five assists. Overall this season Cabana has tallied 31 points (17g, 14a) in 30 games with the Everblades. Following his first stint on the IR, the native of Calgary, Alberta collected a four-point night on Dec. 10 vs. Augusta and added a hat-trick on Jan. 3 vs. Pensacola.
Cabana is in his fifth professional season and second with the Everblades. The former 6th round draft pick by the Vancouver Canucks in 1998 joined the Everblades at the trade deadline last season, and finished the year with six points in Florida's final seven regular season games. In the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Cabana chipped in 17 points in 17 games. Overall in his career Cabana has tallied 123 points in 180 games.
