BOISE, Idaho - The Fresno Falcons remain winless in three games this season against the Idaho Steelheads as they were defeated this evening by a score of 4-1 at Qwest Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Steelheads' second-ranked power play went to work in the second. Marty Flichel found David Bararuk through the left circle, who drove a slapshot toward the net that deflected off a Falcons d-man past goaltender Brett Jaeger at 6:05. Idaho added to their lead at 13:17 of the middle period. D'Arcy McConvey took a wrist shot off the rush, and the ECHL's leading scorer, Garett Bembridge, was right there to dump in the rebound for his 32nd of the season, giving the Steelheads a 2-0 lead through 40 minutes.

The 2003-04 Kelly Cup Champions put the game away with another power play goal early in the third. Paul Caponigri lowered his shoulder up the right wing and shoveled the puck top shelf at 3:10 to make it a 3-0 contest. Bararuk and Caponigri then combined on a pretty give-an-go with the former re-directing home his second of the night at 10:37. Fresno spoiled goaltender Matt Yeats' shutout bid with a power play goal at 13:21 as Fraser Clair jammed home a rebound for his ninth of the season.

With the loss, the Falcons drop to 21-7-8. They reach the exact mid-way point of the season continuing to lead the Pacific Division with 50 points, 10 more than the second-place Long Beach Ice Dogs.
