BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The ECHL today selected Condors defenseman Scott Basiuk as a replacement for James Laux of the Utah Grizzlies on the National Conference All-Star Team. Basiuk is scheduled to represent Bakersfield at the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition at Fresno's Save Mart Center on January 24th-25th.

Basiuk, 25, is in his second season as a professional and has recorded a goal and 16 assists (including 11 assists on the power play) with the Condors. The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, native began last year with the South Carolina Stingrays before being called up to the AHL for a one-game stint with the Portland Pirates. Basiuk finished his rookie year with the Dayton Bombers, where he recorded 2 goals and 7 assists in 42 starts. The 6- foot-2, 205-pound defenseman played four years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before turning pro.

"It's aways good to have a young player acknowledged," said Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond. "Aside from Bolduc, Basiuk is the best choice to go and we hope he represents us with pride."

Alexandre Bolduc, who signed a two-way ECHL/AHL deal with the Manitoba Moose on Thursday, will remain with the Moose through the duration of the All-Star festivities in Fresno as Manitoba and its NHL affiliate, the Vancouver Canucks, continue to battle injuries. Bolduc, 20, has made ten appearances with Manitoba, scoring a goal and an assist during his time in the American Hockey League. In 19 games with the Condors this season, the Montreal, Quebec native led Condor rookies with 8 goals and 12 points before his call-up by Manitoba. Bolduc was slated to return to Bakersfield this weekend but will remain with the Moose through the ECHL All-Star Week.

The Fresno Falcons are the host for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 24 and the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on Jan. 25. Both events will be at Save Mart Center and begin at 7 p.m. PT.

The Condors host the Victoria Salmon Kings in back to back games this weekend. On Friday, January 20th, the first 2,000 fans will receive a Condors car magnet courtesy of the US Army. Saturday, January 21st is the KUZZ 107.9 and National Staffing Oildale vs. Rosedale cap giveaway. The first 2,000 fans will get to choose between an Oildale (trucker) style or Rosedale (sergeant/kurtz) style cap. The first style to run out is declared the winner. Both games start at 7pm and doors open at 6pm.
