Kings Recall Muzzin

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Jake Muzzin from the Monarchs and they have placed defenseman Drew Doughty on the injured reserve list (retroactive to October 21), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Muzzin, 21, has played in six Kings games this season, his first in the NHL. He has one point (an assist) and zero penalty minutes. He was assigned by the Kings to the Monarchs on Saturday.

The 6-foot-3, 213 pound Muzzin is a native of Woodstock, Ontario. He was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on January 4, 2010.

Doughty, 20, suffered an upper-body injury on Wednesday night at STAPLES Center during the Kings' victory against Carolina. In five games this season, Doughty has one point (an assist) and two penalty minutes.
