Upcoming Events:
Before the game on Friday, October 29, the Phantoms will be at the "Boo to You" Trick or Treat event on Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls. Stop by the Phantoms table to get some goodies including a free kids admission (age 14 and younger) to the Phantoms Halloween Party and game on Saturday, October 30 (with the purchase of an adult ticket).
Then on Saturday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m., the Phantoms face-off against the Rochester Americans and it is a Halloween Party with your hometown team. During the second intermission Saturday night, we will have a costume parade with all the little ghosts, princesses, superheroes and cartoon characters down on the ice. Be sure to sign up before the game at the Guest Services Table to participate in our costume parade.

Back-to-Back Home Games on the Weekend
Friday, October 29- 7:30 pm - Glens Falls Civic Center - Glens Falls, NY
Vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (6-0-0-0, 12pts)
1st Place in East Division, Eastern Conference
This will be the second of eight meetings between the Phantoms and Penguins. Dustin Jeffrey leads the Baby Penguins with 7 pts (2 goals, 5 assists) while Joe Vitale leads the team in goals scored with 4. Back on October 12th, the Phantoms scored early in that game on a goal by Zac Rinaldo but Tim Wallace and Joe Vitale gave the Penguins just enough offense to defeat the Phantoms 2-1. Backlund, in that game, turned away 32 of 34 shots while John Curry earned his first win on the young season making 25 saves.

This will be the second of four meetings between the Amerks and Phantoms. Michal Repik leads Rochester in points with 8 (1 goal, 7 assists) while Michael Nylander, the former NHL-er, leads the Amerks in goals with 4. The Amerks, the Florida Panthers affiliate, won the first game of the season series on October 17th by a score of 5-2. The Phantoms received two goals in the third period from both Patrick Maroon and Joonas Lehtivuori. Brian Stewart started the game and made 20 saves while his counterpart, Jacob Markstrom, turned aside 25 of 27 shots.

October 22, 2010 - Charlotte 5 @ Adirondack 1
On Friday night, Dan Jancevski played in his 700th career game. Eric Wellwood continued his great start to the season with his third goal in four games but the ex-Phantom, Jon Matsumoto, scored a goal and had two assists in the loss. Johan Backlund made 35 saves while his counterpart, Mike Murphy, won his second game of the season, stopping 31 of 32 shots.
October 23, 2010 - Adirondack 1 @ Hershey 5
Andrew Rowe, the rookie out of Michigan State, scored his second goal of the season, unassisted, late in the third period while Johan Backlund returned to the net and stopped 32 of the 37 shots. Hershey goalie Braden Holtby made 17 saves to win his third game of the season. The Phantoms were the only team to post a winning record over the Calder Cup Champions last year going 4-3-1 vs. the Bears.
October 24, 2010 - Adirondack 2 @ Hershey 4
The Phantoms got out to a strong start with goals by Patrick Maroon, his fifth of the season, on the power play and Jonathon Kalinski, his second of the season, to get Adirondack to an early 2-0 lead. The back-to-back defending Calder Cup Champions responded with a goal by Ben Gordon midway through the first period and by Andrew Jourdey, his first of the season, towards the end of the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Ben Gordon scored his second of the game and the game-winner on the power play to help Hershey complete the comeback. Brian Stewart, the rookie goaltender out of Northern Michigan University was stellar in his second start of the season. Stewart made some superb saves among his total of 30 on the night.
Phantoms Reebok/AHL Player of Week Nomination: (Week 2)
Patrick Maroon - LW- #7 - 3 GP (1 goal, 1 assist, 2 pts), 12 PIM
Maroon scored a goal and had an assist on Jonathon Kalinski's goal in the game Sunday afternoon in Hershey. Maroon, who had 11 goals last season, already has five on the young season.

The Phantoms come back home over Halloween weekend with some great promotions on tap. The weekend begins Friday, October 29 against the undefeated Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Look for Phantoms goodies and ticket vouchers at the team's table on Glen Street during the upcoming "Boo to You" Halloween block party earlier in the evening.
On Saturday, October 30 the Phantoms host the Rochester Americans as the first 1,000 kids age 14 and younger received Phantoms silly wrist bands courtesy of Saratoga Spine. There will be a kids costume parade around the ice in the second intermission. And all the Phantoms will be appearing during a post-game open skate so remember to bring your skates and gloves and your pens and cameras for autographs and photos!
