Islanders Recall Matt Martin on Emergency Loan

BRIDGEPORT, CONN (Oct. 25, 2010) - The New York Islanders announced today that they have recalled forward Matt Martin on emergency loan from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Martin played in each of the Sound Tigers first seven games this season, notching one goal and two assists. The Windsor, ON native made his NHL debut last season for the Islanders and recorded two assists in five games. A 6-3, 210 lbs. forward, Martin had a breakout rookie season last year with the Sound Tigers with 31 points in 76 games following his junior career with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL.
