K-Wings' road winning streak snapped at six games

Reading, PA- Recording a season-high 70 minutes in penalties, 51 of them in the third period, the Kalamazoo Wings had their six-game road winning streak snapped with a 5-2

Led by back-to-back goals late in the opening period, Reading scored two goals in a span of 38 seconds apart and never looked back. Yannick Tifu (4th) started the scoring with a power-play goal 15:54 into the first period.

After winning the ensuing face-off, Ethan Cox took a slap from between the circles to increase Reading's lead to 2-0.

Cutting the lead in half early in the second period, Yanni Gourde (12th) recorded his team-best fifth power-play goal of the season 1:07 into the period.

Tifu (6th) extended the Royals lead back to three goals midway in the stanza scoring his second of the night on a breakaway marker.

Coming out strong in the third period, Louie Caporusso notched his seventh goal of the season 48 seconds into the period to push the Royals lead to three goals.

Capitalizing on one of their seven power-plays in the third, Marvin Degon (1st) scored on a five-on-three 14:48 into the stanza.

Gourde (13th) stopped the Royals three-goal run by recording his second tally of the night with under two minutes remaining in regulation.

Kalamazoo finished the game 1-for-6 with a man-advantage, while Reading went 2-for-12.

Kalamazoo will conclude their three-game road trip this Monday, December 30th with a 7:15 p.m. encounter at the Huntington Center against the Toledo Walleye.

The K-Wings will return home on Tuesday, December 31st for a 7 p.m. face-off versus the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7 p.m. during the 12th Annual New Year's Eve Bash, presented by COOL 101 and WWMT News Channel 3.

Following the game, the K-Wings will host a postgame bash featuring a live DJ, as well as a public skate in both Wings Stadium and The Annex.

Over the course of the past 11 years, the K-Wings New Year's Eve Bash has become the premiere celebration destination for families.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Regular season ticket prices for home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 12 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and the New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more. Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance. Tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).

Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan.
