Rowe Celebrates 200th Pro Game in Road Warriors' Win

Greenville, SC: Andrew Rowe kicked off the scoring in a milestone game for a 4-2 Road Warriors' win on Saturday night against the Elmira Jackals.

The Road Warriors scored halfway through the first period with Rowe finding the back of the net on a rebound goal. The forward scored his seventh of the season as he celebrated his 200th professional game. Brayden Irwin created the scoring chance with a shot from the point. Irwin moves his assist streak to four games. Justin Vaive continued his point streak to eight games with an assist on the goal. Patch Alber tied the game at one with goal in the slot for his first professional goal. Rob Bellamy collected the assist on the goal. The Road Warriors were able to regain the lead with a power play goal from defenseman Mike Marcou. Jackals goaltender, Scott Greenham, was scrambling from consecutive shots. The puck found Marcou who potted his third goal of the year. Greenville took a 2-1 lead into the second period.

The Road Warriors scored two consecutive goals in the second 1:31 apart. First, Jordie Johnston scored on a rebound for his tenth of the year. Marc-Olivier Vallerand's initial shot bounced to Johnston to give Greenville a 3-1 lead. Josh Nicholls was awarded with a penalty shot and scored on a backhander for his third of the year to give Greenville a 4-1 lead.

Just 2:08 into the third period, Elmira's forward Matt Carter scored to bring the score to a 4-2 Road Warriors' lead. Elmira pulled the goaltender in the final two minutes to attempt to tie the game but was unsuccessful. Scott Stajcer won his third consecutive game and improved to 4-3-0 on the year.

The weekend concludes with an afternoon game tomorrow against the Jackals at 3 p.m. Sunday is Family Fun Day with the Warriors! Kid's meals are only $5 and BI-LO shoppers can use their Bonus Cards to get up to four free tickets in the BI-LO Family Fun Section while supplies last (a $52 vaule). Fans will also have the opportunity to skate with the players after the game!
