J.P. Lamoureux Recalled to Abbotsford

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that goaltender J.P. Lamoureux has been recalled to the AHL's Abbotsford Heat.

The Grizzlies and Abbotsford are the minor league affiliates of the Calgary Flames.

Lamoureux, who last week went 2-0 with two shutouts and was named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week, leaves Utah with a 10-7-1-0 record, a league-leading three shutouts, a 2.58 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage. Earlier this year, Lamoureux went 1-0-0-1 with Abbotsford with a 2.89 goals-against-average and a .895 save percentage. He started games on October 30 and November 14.

The University of North Dakota product was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Year with Alaska in 2008-2009 and spent the 2009-2010 season with Portland of the AHL.

In the meantime, Grizzlies goaltending will be handled by Andrew Engelage who has won five-straight starts and is unbeaten in eight-straight starts overall. Wednesday, he stopped 30 of 31 shots and was 1:15 away from Utah's third shutout in four games. Overall, Engelage is 10-3-2-1 with a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage. His goals-against-average ranks third in the league and his save percentage ranks sixth.

Utah at 20-10-3-1, and atop the Western Conference returns to action tonight in Ontario. Face-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home for four-straight games Wednesday, January 12 when they welcome in Idaho for a 7:05 p.m. face-off.
