
Nailers Acquire Pair of Defensemen

WHEELING, WV ¬" The Wheeling Nailers announced a pair of additions to the roster on Friday, as the team bolsters its blue line. The team has signed defenseman Brett Dickinson to a free agent contract, and completed a trade with the Stockton Thunder for defenseman Trevor Hunt in exchange for future considerations.
Dickinson comes to Wheeling after posting five points (2g, 3a) in 11 games this season for the Augusta RiverHawks of the Southern Professional Hockey League. He played three seasons t Quinnipiac University, where he was a teammate of Nailers defenseman Dan Henningson from 2007-2009. Prior to college, Dickinson played or the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL, sporting a 31-point season (8g, 23a) in 2006-07. He is as native of Furlong, PA.
Hunt has appeared in 10 games this season with Stockton logging an assist and 16 penalty minutes. Last season he played eight games with the Thunder posting two assists and 15 penalty minutes. Prior to his professional career, he was a four year player at the University of Alaska-Anchorage where he posted 22 career points (5g, 17a). He played three seasons with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL, including a 57-point season (15g, 42a) in 2005-06. Hunt hails out of Maple Ridge, BC.
The Nailers are back at home this weekend for a pair of games beginning Saturday at 7:35 p.m against the Reading Royals. The first 1,000 kids aged 14 and under will receive a free Nailers back pack courtesy of BB&T. Wheeling battles division rival Toledo on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. There will be a postgame skate with the team after the game, as well as an appearance by SpongeBob SquarePants.
