TOEING THE RUBBER: Starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez surrendered six runs and nine hits in 6.0 innings on the hill. Five of those runs came in the opening frame with the other crossing the plate in the sixth. The start was the 100th of Gonzalez's seven-year professional career ... Jesus Tinoco retired all six batters he faced in his 2.0 innings of relief.
AT THE DISH: Pat Valaika was responsible for three of the Isotopes eight hits on Tuesday. Valaika drove in Albuquerque's first run with an RBI single in the fourth ... Yonathan Daza went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Daza's RBI double with two outs in the ninth was the only extra-base hit for Albuquerque in the contest. The outfielder has hit safely in 19 of 22 games in 2019 and owns a .398 batting average.
TOPES TIDBITS: The Isotopes have a 3-6 record in series openers ... Albuquerque has now lost three straight games for the first time this season.
