Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

Last Weeks Highlights:

11/23/04 > Long Beach 2 @ Trenton 1 (OT)

Embarking on their most difficult road trip of the season, the Ice Dogs came into Trenton and defeated the Titans on home ice by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Paul Dunphy scored his first goal of the season to give Long Beach a 1-0 lead before Trenton tied it 21 seconds later. Chris Kenady scored the game winner in overtime and Chris Madden earned his 8th win of the season in goal stopping 45 shots.

11/24/04 > Long Beach 2 @ Atlantic City 4

Continuing their New Jersey road trip, the Ice Dogs fell to the Boardwalk Bullies 4-2 on Wednesday night. Yuri Moscevsky scored his first of the season and Chris Kenady added another, as Long Beach led 2-1 after the 1st period. However, Atlantic City came back to score three unanswered goals and came away with the win. Olivier Michaud stopped 41 shots for Long Beach.

11/26/04 > Long Beach 2 @ Atlantic City 3

After a day's rest, the Ice Dogs resumed play with another game at Atlantic City, this time falling 3-2. Long Beach again led 2-1 in the game, with goals by Mike Vellinga and Marco Rosa, but an Atlantic City goal with 2:23 to play in the game gave the Boardwalk Bullies the 3-2 lead and the Ice Dogs were unable to tie it.

11/27/04 > Long Beach 1 @ Johnstown 5

The Ice Dogs lost their most lopsided game of the season thus far, falling to the Johnstown Chiefs by a scored of 5-1. Chris Kenady scored the lone goal for Long Beach, who dropped their third straight game for the first time this season. Olivier Michaud, filling in for the injured Chris Madden, made 28 saves in the defeat.

11/28/04 > Long Beach 2 @ Trenton 3 (OT)

The road weary Ice Dogs played a hard fought game in the final contest of their five-game, six-day road trip across the East Coast. They led the game 2-1 midway through the third period on goals by Marco Rosa and Steeve Villlenueve, but Trenton tied the score to send the game into overtime. This time the Titans would score the game winner in the extra frame but give Long Beach a much needed point.
