SAN DIEGO — Sean O'Connor, who was loaned to the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks last month, has returned to the San Diego Gulls, head coach Martin St. Amour announced on Tuesday.

O'Connor, 23, began the regular season with the Gulls before being called up by Cincinnati on Oct. 27. In 15 games with the Mighty Ducks, he registered one assist and 28 penalty minutes. O'Connor has played two games with the Gulls, racking up zero points and 22 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 203-pound native of Victoria, British Columbia split time last season with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage and ECHL's Augusta Lynx. O'Connor began his professional career in 2002-03, splitting the season with San Antonio and the ECHL's Jackson Bandits. Before turning pro, he spent three years playing juniors in the Western Hockey League. O'Connor was a third round selection of the Florida Panthers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
