Bullies' Edwardson Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Atlantic City center Derek Edwardson is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for November 22-28.

In his first professional season, Edwardson scored five goals in three games as Atlantic City went 3-0-0, improving to 9-0-1 in its last 10 games and 12-4-2 overall. The Boardwalk Bullies are in first place in the North Division with 26 points. Edwardson scored a goal in a 4-2 win against Long Beach on Wednesday and had a power-play goal in a 3-2 win against the Ice Dogs on Friday. In Saturday's game at Trenton, the 5-9 and 180-pound Edwardson had his first multiple-goal game and first hat trick, finishing with four points (3g-1a) in a 6-3 win.

In the last four games, Edwardson has scored a team-leading five goals and nine points and has a team-best plus-minus rating of (+10). In the last 10 games, Edwardson leads Atlantic City in goals (7) and plus-minus rating (+12) and is tied for the team lead with 14 points. He leads ECHL rookies in scoring with 19 points and is tied for the rookie lead with seven power-play points. He is tied for second among rookies in goals (9), assists (10) and power-play assists (5). He leads the league in plus-minus rating (+12) while ranking fifth overall in scoring and tied for fifth overall in goals.

The 23-year-old Edwardson was a finalist in 2003-04 for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the top college hockey player, after finishing 10th in the nation with 48 points (17g-31a) in 41 games for Miami University (Ohio).

On behalf of Derek Edwardson, a case of pucks will be donated to an Atlantic City area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 10,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
