
Royals' Rudkowsky Signs With Providence

READING, Pa. â The Reading Royals
announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has signed a contract with
Providence of the American Hockey League.
Rudkowsky is 4-4-0 while ranking third in the league with a goals-against
average of 1.29 and tied for third with two shutouts while ranking fourth
in save percentage with .949. Placed on the injured reserve on Thursday,
Rudkowsky was selected as the
Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for November 8-14.
In the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Rudkowsky was 8-6 with a goals-against
average of 2.02 and a save percentage of .937 as Reading advanced to the
Eastern Conference Finals before losing in five games to Florida. During
the 2003-04 regular season, Rudkowsky was 24-18-4 with a goals-against
average of 2.38 and a save percentage of .926, setting a Royals record for
wins. The 24 wins were also a career high as was the 46 games played. He
also played in the American Hockey League with Worcester, appearing in one
regular season game and one playoff game for the IceCats.
Rudkowsky made his National Hockey League debut with St. Louis on October
24, 2002 when he entered the game in the second period and made 10 saves in
the Blues' 2-1 win at Edmonton. He had opened the 2002-03 season with
Trenton, making 15 saves in the Titans' 4-3 season-opening win over
Richmond, before being called up to Worcester and eventually St. Louis. He
was 17-9-5 with a 2.73 goals against average and a .911 save percentage in
31 regular season games and helped Trenton advance to the Kelly Cup
Playoffs.
