Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
Last Weeks Highlights:
11/19/04 > Long Beach 4 vs. Fresno 2
In the first meeting of the season between these two West Division rivals, the Ice Dogs continued their home dominance over the Fresno Falcons, defeating them for the sixth straight time at home dating back to last year. Evan Cheverie led the way with two goals, and Chris Kenady added a goal and an assist. Chris Madden made 24 saves for Long Beach to earn the win.
11/20/04 > Long Beach 5 vs. Bakersfield 2
The Ice Dogs became the first team this season to defeat the Bakersfield Condors in regulation, after they started the year 9-0-1. With their highest offensive output of the season, the Ice Dogs got to within three points of the West division lead. Chris Kenady had 2 goals and 2 assists, and Joe Cardarelli added 2 goals and an assist as the Ice Dogs never looked back. Chris Madden earned another win for Long Beach, stopping 46 of 48 Bakersfield shots.
11/21/04 > Long Beach 1 vs. Idaho 2
The Ice Dogs attempt at their third straight win for the second time this season fell short Sunday night, falling to the defending Kelly Cup champion Idaho Steelheads. Idaho took a 2-0 lead, forcing Chris Madden to relieve starting goalie Olivier Michaud. Chris Kenady got the Ice Dogs on the board early in the 3rd period to cut the deficit in half, but the comeback eventually fell short. It was the final game of an 8-game home-stand for Long Beach.
