Lynx Win One Out Of Three On Weekend
November 22, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
A three game road set started promisingly for the Augusta Lynx, but in the end it turned out to be the bright spot as the club went 1-2-0 on their most recent western swing.
Friday night Augusta got the ball rolling in the right direction with a 3-1 win over the Mississippi SeaWolves. Louis Goulet, Rod Sarich (GWG), and Jarrett Thompson all scored for the Lynx while Matus Kostur made 34 saves for the win.
Saturday the fortunes reversed for the Lynx, where despite Goulet recording a point in his eighth consecutive game, they suffered a 5-2 loss to the Louisiana IceGators. Goulet and Sean Connolly scored for the Lynx in the loss.
Sunday afternoon the SeaWolves returned the favor to the Lynx by a 4-1 count, scoring four unanswered goals after Colt King notched his first pro marker at 7:36 of the first period. Jason Saal stopped 13 shots in the loss for the Lynx, while Jason Wolfe made 37 saves to record the win.
All Good Things Must End
Louis Goulet's streak finally came to an end Sunday against Mississippi after notching points in eight straight games. Over that span, the Kapuskasing, Ontario native had four goals and ten points as the Lynx went 4-3-1.
Congratulations Are In Order!
Colt King scored his first professional goal against the Mississippi SeaWolves on Sunday at 7:36 of the first period. King took a pass in front of the Mississippi net and beat goaltender Jason Wolfe between the pads to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead, but the SeaWolves would come back with four goals of their own for a 4-1 loss for Augusta.
