Bakersfield Condors News Release
Condors wingers Todd Alexander and Connor James will be at the College Heights Elementary Annual Turkey Trot beginning at 1:15 p.m. Alexander and James will be leading groups of Kindergarteners through sixth graders as they compete in an obstacle course. The winner of each group of children will receive a turkey for their Thanksgiving meal. Local businesses as well as many people in the community donated the turkeys. College Heights Elementary School is located at 2551 Sunny Lane in Bakersfield.
Saturday, November 27th - Join the Condors as they host the Victoria Salmon Kings for the sixth annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by 29 Eyewitness News, HOT 94.1, & Well Fargo Bank. All fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear, or other stuffed animal, to be thrown on the ice when the Condors score their first goal of the game. An amazing record of 6,143 stuffed animals were collected last season with nearly 20,000 collected in the history of the event. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to less-fortunate children through the United Way of Kern County. The night is also the first Big Buddies Night of the season. Underprivileged children will be given the opportunity to attend the game for free thanks to local organizations and the Active 20/30 Club of Bakersfield.
Tickets to all Condors home games can be purchased at the Centennial Garden box office open from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, with extended hours on event days.
