Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped 3 of 4 games last week, and return to action in Wheeling on Wednesday night (pre-game show 6:55 PM on SportsOne, WONE-AM 980). Following Wednesday's game, Dayton will play 8 of their next 9 games at home.

LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 1-3-0, 2 pts.

Tuesday at Atlantic City – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 3-1 decision to the north Division rival Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in front of 1,423 at Historic Boardwalk Hall in New Jersey. It was Dayton's fourth game in five nights. The Bombers were shutout 3-0 in Reading Saturday night and 2-0 in Atlantic City Sunday afternoon, so a second period goal from MATT HERNEISEN snapped a scoreless drought of 162:18 seconds for Dayton. The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies extended their winning streak to five games.

Friday at Johnstown – The Dayton Bombers ended a five game road trip with a 5-1 loss to the Johnstown Chiefs in front of 3,140 at the Cambria County War Memorial Auditorium. TYLER KOLARIK scored Dayton's only goal at 11:26 of the second period. The Bombers dressed just four healthy defensemen with an injury to GRADY MOORE and the re-call of MICHAEL SCHUTTE to the Mighty Ducks of Cincinnati earlier in the day.

Saturday vs. Johnstown – The Dayton Bombers snapped a 4-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the North Division Rival Johnstown Chiefs in front of 4,364 at the Nutter Center. The Bombers opened the floodgates when TYLER KOLARIK scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season at 9:17 of the second. That was the first of four straight goals for the Bombers, who also set a new mark for most goals in a single period with four. The Bombers improved to 6-7-0.

Sunday vs. Reading – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 7-1 decision to the Reading Royals in front of 2,089 at the Nutter Center. The Royals received goals from seven different players, and won their seventh straight game after losing their first five. "That is the best team we've seen this season, and they're playing exceptional hockey right now", said Bombers GM and Head Coach DON MacADAM. "Nobody's looking for excuses, but our guys just finished 7 games in 10 days. We just have to put this one behind us and re-group for Wednesday's game in Wheeling".
