THE WEEK AHEAD

Friday, November 26th Inferno @ Charlotte Checkers Cricket Arena 7:00pm

The Inferno is 0-2-1 against the Checkers this season. The Checkers are in first place in the East Division with 21 points (10-2-1). This is the fourth meeting between these two teams this season.

Saturday, November 27th Inferno @ Augusta Lynx Richmond Cty. Civic Center 7:00pm

The is the first meeting between the Inferno and Augusta this season. Augusta is in last place in the East Division with nine points (4-6-1).

Friday, November 19th Inferno 3 CHARLOTTE 6

The Charlotte Checkers scored six unanswered goals in the third period as they stole the game from the Inferno 6-3. Columbia opened the game with three straight goals, one in each period. Walker McDonald scored at 4:08 of the first period with help from Matt Ulwelling. McDonald scored his second goal of the night at 6:16 of the second period with an assist going to Ulwelling again. Ryan Campbell rounded out the scoring for the Inferno 59 seconds into the third period to notch his fourth goal of the season. Charlotte's goals were scored by Lee Falardeau (3), Rory Rawlyk (2) and Mike Harder added the empty net goal. Rob McVicar was between the pipes for the Inferno stopping 24 shots.

Saturday, November 20th INFERNO 3 Greenville 1

The Columbia Inferno beat the Greenville Grrrowl Friday night 3-1. Greenville was on the board first at 13:48 of the first period with a goal by Edward Caron. That was it for the Grrrowl. John Longo scored his third goal of the season at 11:57 of the first with help from Bryson Busniuk and Steve Slaton to tie the game. Kyle Bruce scored at 18:13 of the second period, scoring his third goal of the season, with an assist to Matt Ulwelling for the game-winning goal. Sean Owens added the security as he scores his first goal of the season at 7:34 of the third period. Walker McDonald and Bruce had the assists. Rob McVicar stopped 34 of 35 shots on goal to earn his third win.

GAME PROMOTIONS

Friday, December 3rd – WMHK Teddy Bear Toss, Fans are asked to bring a teddy bear to the game and when the Inferno score their first goal you get to throw it on the ice. All bears are donated to the WMHK Bears for Caring program. These bears stay in the Midlands area and are distributed to area hospitals and children.

Friday, December 10th – TOYS FOR TOTS, Fans are asked to bring a toy to donate to the Marines for their Toys for Tots program. In past years, we have collected hundreds of toys for children in their program.
