Checkers announce second annual CMS Night
November 22, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
CHARLOTTE, NC â The Charlotte Checkers are teaming up with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for the Second Annual CMS Night and Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Office Depot.
On Friday, November 26th, all CMS students from kindergarten through the eighth grade will receive a free youth ticket to the Checkers home game against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. This night isn't just for the students, though. All fans are encouraged to participate by bringing a new, wrapped teddy bear to the game to toss onto the ice after the Checkers score their first goal. All teddy bears will be donated to the Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital.
As an added bonus, fans will be treated to first- and second-intermission performances by the ZOOperstars, one of the sports world's hottest entertainment acts. Across the nation, fans of all ages have enjoyed the hilarious ZOOperstars characters, and now they are coming to Charlotte.
"Last year's CMS Night was an unbelievable success," said Checkers President Jeff Longo. "Through our wonderful relationship with CMS, we were able to bring a night of unparalleled entertainment to thousands of families."
With the added excitement of the ZOOperstars, the Second Annual CMS Night and Teddy Bear Toss presented by Office Depot is a great way to introduce families to hockey, all while supporting an important cause. Fans are advised to buy tickets early to avoid long waits at the ticket office.
