Last Weeks Highlights:
No Games Played
11/10/04 > Long Beach 2 vs. Victoria 1
In the first ever meeting between Long Beach and Victoria, the Ice Dogs were the ones who skated away victorious. It was the first time this season the Ice Dogs have out-shot on opponent, taking 25 shots on goal to Victoria's 21. The Ice Dogs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals by Evan Cheverie and Chris Kenady. Victoria cut the deficit in half late in the 2nd period, but Olivier Michaud stopped a late game flurry of shots to earn his first win in an Ice Dogs uniform.
11/12/04 > Long Beach 2 vs. Alaska 0
For the third straight game the Ice Dogs came away with a win, their first 3-game winning streak in nearly two years. Chris Madden earned his third shutout of the season in just six starts, stopping all 30 shots he faced. Steeve Villenueve scored his first goal of the season to give Long Beach a 1-0 lead at the end of the 2nd period, and Marco Rosa added an empty-netter to seal the win. NHL All-Star Scott Gomez was held to just one shot for Alaska.
11/13/04 > Long Beach 0 vs. Alaska 3
Going for their fourth consecutive victory, the Ice Dogs instead came out flat and were shutout by Alaska one night after blanking them. The Ice Dogs were out-shot 24-7 in the first period, but trailed only 1-0 heading into the second. Olivier Michaud was credited with the loss despite stopping 38 shots. Peter Aubry earned the shutout for Alaska. Scott Gomez was again held scoreless, contributing one shot.
