CONDORS 5, Toledo 1, attendance: 4,008

Lars-Peder Nagel power the Condors with a pair of goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over the Toledo Storm on Thursday night. Randy Petruk was solid in net, stopping 29 shots and keeping the Storm off the board on six power play opportunities. Eight other players recorded at least one point, including Connor James, Guy Dupuis and Mike Hofstrand, who each had a pair.

Toledo 4, CONDORS 3, shootout, attendance: 4,351

The Condors perfect record halted on Friday night when they suffered a shootout defeat to the Storm 4-3. Despite being outshot 44-23 in the contest, Bakersfield held two separate leads in the game, the latter of which lasted until the final four minutes of the game. Nick Parillo set up the tying goal for his second point of the game, and his tally in the shootout proved to be the game winner. Yutaka Fukufuji stopped 41 shots in a brilliant performance.

CONDORS 4, San Diego 1, attendance: 5,390

Brad Mehalko had two goals and Ashlee Langdone had a goal and an assist against his former team as the Condors improved to 7-0-1 with a 4-1 triumph over the San Diego Gulls on Saturday. Langdone's power play goal at 7:41 of the second period proved to be the game winner and one of three power play tallies on the night for the Condors, who own the league's best power play percentage. Randy Petruk had 27 saves, including several acrobatic ones early in the game, and had an assist on the game winner.

This week

The Condors have one home game and a pair of road games scheduled, in San Diego on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. and in Long Beach on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. In between, the Condors host the Las Vegas Wranglers on Thursday night in a 7:00 p.m. bout at Centennial Garden. That night is the second Student ID Night of the season, with all junior high, high school and college students able to purchase lower level tickets for just $1 by presenting their student ID to the box office. All games, home or away, can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230 with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 prior to the drop of the puck.

Where we are

The Condors are in first place in the West Division, National Conference and the entire ECHL with a 7-0-1 record. No team has more wins on the year and only Johnstown (4-0-5) is also unbeaten in regulation.

Notes from the Nest

· Randy Petruk went 2-0 this week to run his record to a league-best 6-0-0
· There is a five-way tie for the top scoring spot on the team with nine points, including two defensemen and two rookies
· D Luis Tremblay and LW Connor James both have nine points in a tie for third highest among ECHL rookies
· Tremblay and Guy Dupuis are tied for the ECHL lead in defensemen scoring with nine points
· C Mike Hofstrand has not taken a penalty yet this season
· The Condors own the league's top power play at 35.1%
· Bakersfield also leads the league with a 4.38 goals per game average and are third with a 2.00 goal against average
· The Condors are second in penalty minute average at 30.3. They're also shorthanded an average of 5.75 times per game - second only to Fresno in the league.
