
Royals Trade For Rugged Forward

Reading, PA â The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that they have acquired right wing Nick Greenough from Augusta for cash considerations.
Greenough, 24, has appeared in just four games this season with the Augusta Lynx. He has been held scoreless and accumulated 14 penalty minutes. The fourth year pro racked up 201 minutes in penalties last season with Augusta in just 45 games. He tallied a goal and eight assists. In 2001-02 while with Mississippi (ECHL), the Windsor, Nova Scotia native set a career in high in penalty minutes with 224 PIMs in 42 games played with the Sea Wolves. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound forward has also appeared in 44 games in the American Hockey League and registered two goals and four points total with 136 penalty minutes.
Royals general manager Ray Delia said Greenough will be a solid addition to the hockey club, "Nick is a tough, experienced winger who will add size and grit to our line up."
The Reading Royals are entering their fourth season in Reading, Pennsylvania after relocating from Columbus, Ohio. The Royals enjoyed their first Kelly Cup playoff appearance last season, claiming the Northern Division Title and were one win away from qualifying for the Kelly Cup Finals. The Royals and the City of Reading are proud to be hosting the 13th annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition presented by Coors Light on January 25 and 26.
The Royals host a pair of games this week. Reading battles Peoria for the first time this season, a rematch of last season's Northern Division Finals series. It's Voices Hockey Night in Reading with students able to enter the game for just $5 with a valid student ID. Friday when Reading tangles with South Carolina, Captial Blue Cross is handing out Royals ice scrapers to the first 2,000 fans in attendance. Both games face off at 7:05 p.m.
