ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades closed out their season-long 7-game road trip this past week with a 1-2-0 record. Overall the 'Blades finished the trip with a 2-5-0 record. The 'Blades enter this week's action with a record of 5-6-0 (10 pts., 3rd South Division).

GAME NOTES: Division opponents from last season meet up for the first two of five meetings this season, with the other three all coming in Florence, SC. Last year the 'Blades finished with an impressive 6-0-2 record vs. the Pride, including a perfect 4-0-0 at Germain Arena. The Everblades hold an all-time record of 22-18-5 vs. Pee Dee, and are 15-6-2 all-time at home vs. the Pride. Pee Dee enters this week's action with a record of 6-4-1 (13 pts., T-2nd East Division).
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Wednesday, November 10 at Idaho 4-2 W The opening game of the three-game series between the teams who met for the Kelly Cup Finals in 2004 resulted in a 4-2 Florida victory. Matt Hendricks picked up a pair of goals for the 'Blades and Damian Surma along with Jim Abbott added goals for Florida to upend the defending Kelly Cup champions. Craig Kowalski was spectacular for the Everblades in goal making several huge saves in the third period to keep the Steelheads at bay, and overall stopped 24 of 26 Idaho shots to increase his record to 2-2-0. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-6, PK: 2-2.
Friday, November 12 at Idaho 3-2 L The Idaho Steelheads evened the season series with a 3-2 victory over the 'Blades in a physical battle last Friday night at the Bank of America Centre. Chris Lee opened the scoring for Florida notching his first professional goal in the first period. After Idaho tied the game, the contest became physical when 'Blades forward Keith Anderson was knock unconscious by an illegal hit by David Cornaccia. Idaho managed to open a 3-1 lead by the late stages of the third period, before Florida was able to close to within one when Ryan Brindley scored his first goal of the season with 10.7 seconds remaining in regulation. Craig Kowalski played strong in goal once again for the 'Blades making many big saves, but suffered the tough-luck loss allowing the three goals on 34 Steelhead shots, dropping his record to 2-3-0. Florida special teams: PP: 0-for-2, PK: 3-for-4.
Saturday, November 13 at Idaho 4-2 L The Everblades closed out their 7-game road trip with their third and final game of the regular season against the Steelheads. A quiet game saw the teams trade goals throughout the first two periods. Idaho opened the scoring in the first, before Florida battled back with two second period goals by Damian Surma and Chris Hodgson. Surma's goal increased his league-leading point total to 16. The Steelheads sandwiched a goal between the two Florida second period goals, then scored twice in the third period to open the 4-2 lead. Rob Zepp made the start in goal for the Everblades and took the loss, allowing four goals on 19 shots, to see his record fall to 3-3-0. Florida special teams: PP: 0-for-2, PK: 2-for-3.

ECHL Player of The Week Nominee: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Matt Hendricks. The 23-year-old Minnesota native picked up four points (2g, 2a) in three games this past week.
Road Weary: The Everblades wrapped up their season-long 7-game road trip on Saturday night in Boise, Idaho. Overall the 'Blades closed out the trip, which began on October 30 at Pensacola, with a 2-5-0 record. On the trip, which lasted 14 days, the Everblades logged a total of 7,576 miles! Overall this season, the 'Blades will spend a total of 72 days on the road this season!
Special Teams: Entering this week the Everblades rank 19th on the power play (7-for-51, 13.7% overall, 16th at home, 17.4%, and 22nd on the road, 10.7%) and rank 28th on the penalty kill (32-for-47, 68.1% overall, 25th at home, 71.4%, and 28th on the road, 65.4%) So far this season, the Everblades have allowed a power play goal all but one game.
League Leaders: Damian Surma continues to lead the ECHL in scoring with 16 points (9g, 7a). His nine goals also leads the league. Surma also leads the ECHL in plus/minus with a plus-11. Matt Hendricks leads the league in rookie scoring with 11 points (5g, 6a). Hendricks also is tied for 5th in the ECHL in shots with 44, which leads all rookies. Defensively, Matt Pagnutti is tied for 7th in defensive scoring with seven points (1g, 6a).
Coach's Show: The Florida Everblades weekly coach's show, "Blades Talk" will return on Monday, November 15 at Stevie Tomato's Sports Page in Ft. Myers. The show will run live from 7-8 p.m. and can be heard live on SportsRadio 770 AM. The weekly Monday night show features the "voice" of the Florida Everblades Kevin Reiter along with 'Blades head coach Gerry Fleming. Each week a different Everblades player will join Reiter and Fleming to talk about the Everblades previous games from the past week, and take a look at what's coming up for the 'Blades. Fans are encouraged to attend!
