This Week's Opponents-

Bakersfield Condors – (7-0-1) – LV Leads All-Time Series 9-1-0

Bakersfield is off to a great start with a 7-0-1 record. Their only loss came in a shootout to Toledo last Friday. The Condors are 6-0-0 at home this season and bring a balanced attack to the ice with five players tied for the team lead in scoring with nine points. Goalie Randy Petruk is 6-0-0 with a 1.83 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. The Condors back-up goalie is Yutaka Fukufuji, the first Japanese goaltender to play in the ECHL. Bakersfield is outscoring their opponents 35-16 in their first eight games.

Idaho Steelheads– (7-3-0) – LV Leads All-Time Series 5-3-2

Idaho returns to the Orleans Arena for the first time since eliminating Las Vegas in Game 5 of the first round of the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Steelheads went on to win the Kelly Cup, beating Florida in the Finals four games to one. The Steelheads return nine players from last year's championship team including Lance Galbraith who leads the ECHL with 69 penalty minutes in nine games. Left wing Scott Burt and defenseman Peter Matcalf lead the team in scoring with nine points each. Goalie Frank Doyle is 6-2-0 with a 2.13 goals against average and .917 save percentage. The Steelheads changed their NHL Affiliation from Dallas to Phoenix. Idaho ranks in the top six for power play and penalty kills.

Ask Out, Tibbetts Claimed ......

The Las Vegas Wranglers lost center Morten Ask for an unknown period of time as the 24-year old left Las Vegas to return home to Norway for a family medical emergency. Ask was suspended by the team in order to retain his rights and still allow him to leave the team. Ask had six points in six games played.

In a move to help fill the void in the roster, the Wranglers have claimed forward Billy Tibbetts off waivers from San Diego. In seven games with San Diego this season, Tibbetts scored four goals and assisted on five others. He is among the top five in the ECHL with 56 penalty minutes.
