Ice Dogs Fire 64 Shots, Fall To Condors 2-1 In Shootout

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs (14-14-4) put an amazing 64 shots on goal tonight, but still came up short to the Bakersfield Condors (12-10-4) in a shootout, 2-1. It was the most number of shots the Ice Dogs have had in their ECHL era and the most number of shots an ECHL team has had yet this season.

It was the Condors who scored the first goal, at 13:28 of the opening period. Andrew Ianero was the goal scorer on the power play from Joel Irving and Dave Bonk. Then at 19:17, Mike Woodford tied it for Long Beach, from Mac Faulkner and Mike Vellinga.

The game remained tied 1-1 through the second and the third periods, sending it into a five minute sudden death overtime. The score remained tied and went into a shootout. After all five shooters from both teams, the game was still tied until Leslie Reagan finally scored the game winner on their sixth attempt.

Ryan Munce was the star of the game, making a season high 63 saves for Bakersfield in the win. Jaroslav Halak took the shootout loss, making 23 saves. The Ice Dogs finished 0-6 on the power while the Condors went 1-3.
