
Wranglers silence Thunder 2-1

LAS VEGAS, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers (26-6-3, 55 points) defeated the Stockton Thunder (5-18-4, 14 points) 2-1 on Saturday night in front of 5,600 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' goaltender Mike McKenna made 24 saves to earn his tenth win of the season. Wranglers' forwards Shawn Limpright and Chris Neiszner each scored a goal and added an assist as the Wranglers moved to 13-1-2 at home. Stockton goalie Jeff Weber made 34 saves in the loss. The Wranglers continue their six-game home stand on Tuesday night, January 10th, at 7:05pm versus the San Diego Gulls.
In the first period, the Stockton Thunder got out to an early 1-0 lead as Geno Parrish scored on the power play at 5:12.
In the second period, Shawn Limpright scored his fourth goal of the season, tying the game at one just 2:36 into the period. Neiszner and Todd Alexander added assists on the Wranglers first goal of the night.
Center Chris Neiszner tallied the game-winning goal from Shawn Limpright and Chris Stanley at 7:31 of the third period to give the Wranglers the 2-1 win.
Tuesday night, Las Vegas will host the San Diego Gulls at 7:05 pm. Next Friday, January 13th, the Wranglers will host the
Fresno Falcons at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas will wear specialty jerseys to commemorate Friday the 13th. Fans
may bid on the jerseys at a silent auction run during the game in the concourse. Also, the first 1,500 fans will receive a
Wranglers T-Shirt courtesy of KB Homes. Saturday the 14th, fans can catch the Wranglers and the Phoenix Roadrunners at
7:05 pm and Crazy Cameron will be on hand to provide some additional entertainment.
Tickets for all games are on sale now. Fans may purchase seats to all Wranglers home games at any of the following ticket locations: The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast, South Coast and Suncoast, or at the Galleria Mall guest relations/ticket centers.
