Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that right wing Colin Hemingway has been signed to a Professional Tryout Agreement after starting the season with the ECHL's Alaska Aces. With the move, the P-Bruins have 23 players on their roster, including 13 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.

Hemingway, 28, ranks tied for seventh in the ECHL with 54 points in 49 games for Alaska. His 18 goals and 26 assists both pace the Aces. Named a 2009 ECHL National Conference All-Star, Hemingway has posted 14 multiple-point outings and recorded six point-streaks of at least three games. The forward's best run came from November 16 - December 6, 2008, tallying six goals and 11 assists over 10 games.

The sixth-year pro has 257 points (118g, 139a) in 276 career contests, including a three-game scoreless stint with the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues in 2005-06. Hemingway has also played for the AHL's Peoria Rivermen and Worcester IceCats, Peoria's ECHL club, the ECHL's Pensacola Ice Pilots, and two clubs overseas, the Schwenningen ERC and Edinburgh Capitals.

A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Hemingway was selected by St. Louis 221st overall in the eighth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
