Bulldogs rally to beat Marlies 4-3

Toronto, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 4-3 on Friday night at Ricoh Coliseum. David Desharnais recorded two goals to lead the Bulldogs to victory.

The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 3:45 of the middle frame. Brock Trotter fed a pass to Desharnais, who was positioned in the slot. Desharnais fired a shot that beat Toronto starting goaltender James Reimer.

The Marlies tied the game at 8:14 of the opening stanza. Jiri Tlusty sent a pass to Anton Stralman, who blasted a shot on net. The puck deflected off a Hamilton defender's stick and squeaked between the legs of Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis. Toronto took a 2-1 lead at 10:33. While stationed in front of the net, Ryan Hollweg received a pass from Kyle Rogers. Hollweg jammed the puck between the legs of Denis for the goal. Jeremy Williams gave the Marlies a 3-1 lead at 15:12 with a power-play goal. Andre Deveaux passed the puck to Alex Foster, who sent a cross-crease pass to Williams. Williams one-timed the puck past a sprawling Denis for the goal.

The Bulldogs cut the lead to one at 4:11 of the second period. Ryan O'Byrne skated down the right side boards from the point before blasting a shot towards the net. The puck bounced off a Marlies defender's leg and past Reimer. Ryan White and Dan Jancevski earned assists on the goal.

Hamilton tied the game 3-3 at 5:11 of the final frame. Dan Jancevski received the puck in front of the net before firing a shot that was saved by Reimer. J.T. Wyman raced to the loose rebound before snapping a shot over Reimer's glove. The Bulldogs took a 4-3 lead at 12:38. Yanick Lehoux received a pass from Trotter before feeding a cross-ice pass to Desharnais. Desharnais waited patiently before wristing a shot that sailed through Reimer's pads.

The Bulldogs return to Copps Coliseum tomorrow evening when they host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:00 p.m. Fans can listen to every ‘Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
