Grizzlies Fall 3-2 To Idaho

West Valley City, Utah - The Idaho Steelheads scored with 1:38 left in regulation to break a 2-2 tie and defeat the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 Tuesday at the E-Center.

The Grizzlies jumped up 2-0 in the first period with Tim Maxwell scoring his first pro goal in his first pro game 4:06 into the contest to give Utah a 1-0 lead. Assists went to Evan Kotsopoulos and Mark Pavli. James Sixsmith played a puck off of the back wall and knocked it home for his seventh of the year at 13:07 of the period. Evan Stoflet and Vladimir Nikiforov picked up assists. Idaho made it 2-1 1:09 later and that was the score after one period.

Idaho tied the game 2:56 into the second period on a shorthanded goal and 2-2 was the score until the game-winner by Bryan McGregor late in the third.

Goaltender Mike Mole stopped 27 of 30 Idaho shots in the Grizzlies losing cause.

James Sanford led Utah with five shots on goal in his return to the Utah lineup after eight games in the AHL with Chicago.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Friday and Saturday hosting Stockton. Face-off both nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
