
Gwinnett's Schell Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brad
Schell of the Gwinnett Gladiators is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the
Week for Dec. 1-7.
Schell had four goals and seven points to help the Gladiators go 3-0-1 and
improve to 7-2-1 in their last 10 games to move into third place in the
South Division.
After scoring a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win at South Carolina on Dec.
2, Schell had a power-play goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime loss at
Mississippi on Dec. 5 and two power-play goals in a 9-2 win at Mississippi
on Dec. 6.
Selected in the sixth round (167th overall) by the Atlanta Thrashers in the
2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft, the 24 year old is tied for the
team lead with nine goals and is tied for second with 11 assists and 20
points in 20 games.
Schell was voted the
CCM Vector ECHL Most Valuable Player and
First Team All-ECHL after leading the league with 85 assists and 110
points in 2006-07. He also started in the
2007 ECHL All-Star Game and scored the first goal for the American
Conference in its 6-3 win.
He has played in the ECHL each of his first five professional seasons and
he has 221 points (56g-165a) in 184 regular season games and 13 points
(3g-10a) in 16 Kelly Cup Playoff games for Gwinnett. He has also played in
the American Hockey League where he has seven points (3g-4a) in 23 regular
season games with Chicago and San Antonio and two points (0g-2a) in 15
playoff games for Chicago.

organization by In Glas
Co, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its
sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than
20,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
