Wranglers Complete Deal With Cyclones, Add Defenseman Makway

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that defenseman Steve Makway has been added to complete a previous trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones that sent goalie Martin Houle from Las Vegas to Cincinnati. Las Vegas will play on the road tonight in Fresno at Selland Arena at 7:00 PM.

Makway (pronounced Mack-Way) is in his fifth season of pro hockey after starting the season with the defending Kelly Cup Champions. In 18 games with the Cyclones, Makway dished out eight assists and accumulated nine points. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder also racked up 35 penalty minutes. The Trail, BC native spent the last two seasons in the Central Hockey league with River Kings in Memphis. In two years, Makway eclipsed the 40-point plateau twice and totaled 63 assists and 84 points in 126 games. The 25-year old also racked up 329 penalty minutes in two years in Memphis. Overall, Makway has played in 258 professional games, scoring 30 goals and adding 92 assists for 122 points. The blueliner has 687 career penalty minutes.

Las Vegas continues a five-game road trip Tuesday and Thursday in Fresno at 7:05 PM at Selland Arena. The team will stop in Bakersfield before returning home for the Midnight game on Monday, December 15th at 11:59 PM.
