
Wranglers Blast Falcons 7-0

Phoenix, AZ - The Las Vegas Wranglers (9-10-2, 20 points) defeated the Fresno Falcons (15-8-1, 31 points) 7-0 at Selland Arena on Tuesday night. Right wing Matt Beaudoin recorded a hat trick and added two assists, tying a team record with five points. Goalie Kevin Lalande stopped all 32 Fresno shots for his second career shutout and fifth of his career. Center Chris Ferraro scored twice and added an assist, as Las Vegas improved to 3-7-2 on the road. Centers Justin Taylor and Tyler Mosienko also scored, ending the team's three-game losing skid. Las Vegas set a team record with three shorthanded goals in one game. Las Vegas remain in Fresno for another game on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
In the first period, Las Vegas jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals by center Chris Ferraro. The first coming off a redirection of a Jeff May shot at 4:03. Ferraro's first of the night and eighth of the season gave the Wranglers a 1-0 lead. With a five-on-three power play, Ferraro struck again at 14:05. The Wranglers centerman ripped a one-timer from the top of the left-wing circle. Ferraro's ninth of the season sailed over the left shoulder of Fresno goalie Joe Fallon for the two-goal lead for Las Vegas. Fallon was pulled after the first period of play, stopping nine of 11 Fresno shots.
In the second period, Las Vegas erupted with four more goals starting just 35-seconds into the period. Forward Tyler Mosienko scored off a feed from Chris Ferraro, who was behind the net. Mosienko's sixth of the season gave Las Vegas a 3-0 lead. Halfway through the period, Matt Beaudoin finished off a cross-ice feed from Shawn Limpright on the penalty kill. Beaudoin's second of the season expanded the Wranglers lead to 4-0. Las Vegas added to the lead to 4-0 at 13:11 when Beaudoin snapped a wrist shot past Fresno goalie Michael Ouzas. Center Justin Taylor finished off a shorthanded breakaway at 16:19. Taylor's eighth goal of the season gave Las Vegas a 6-0 lead heading into the final period.
In the third period, Beaudoin completed his hat trick, scoring just 2:44 into the final period for the 7-0 Wranglers lead.
Las Vegas continues a five-game road trip on Thursday in Fresno at 7:05 PM at Selland Arena. The team will stop in Bakersfield on Saturday before returning home for the Midnight game on Monday, December 15th at 11:59 PM.
